RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB

esolven RFC is based at Vaughan Field in Neath and their first team competed in
Division 3 West Central A of the SWALEC National League last season. It is believed
that rugby was first brought to Resolven by engineers Charlie Thomas and Alf Morgan with
their first matches being played at Tan-y-Rhiw.
Over the years the club has been able
to put together a history of which they
have every right to be proud and were
able to celebrate their 125th anniversary
in the 2010/11 season. They marked the
occasion in style as they won the Division
5 South Central League only losing one
match in the process. They also reached
the final of the West Wales Rugby Union
Plate and made it to the quarter finals
of the Glamorgan County Silver Ball
competition.
