Minety FOLLOW US ONLINE TWITTER.COM/RUGBYCLUBMAG we host an annual beer festival, featuring live music, a fun fair and a wide range of beverages, we enter teams in the village skittles league, support a Christmas Choir to help raise funds for charity and will soon begin a new initiative called “The Fan of the Match” specifically for those less fortunate than our players. In the first of what we hope will be a regular feature, a local man, who has lost his sight, but follows us avidly in the press through a local “Newspapers for the Blind” initiative, will be our special guest at a 1st XV match, joining the team 24 Issue 63 beforehand, tossing the coin at the start of the match and then presenting the Man of the Match award at the end of proceedings. I suppose the obvious benefit of being part of a multi sports club is that running costs are shared, but, more importantly, it creates a good community “feel” and places the club at the heart of its community. The relationship between all the users of the club is excellent; we often overlap functions with other users, especially the village football team, and even play against them from time to time.” Facilities “We currently occupy a smaller than average sized club house, which was built in the early 80’s. It has undergone some modernisation recently, but it’s a constant work in progress. The club house features three changing rooms (one moderate sized and two smaller), a cubicle for the referee to get changed in, a set of toilets and a small shower room with 14 shower heads.
