Club Captain Dominic Green took the time to tell us more about the good work that the club has been doing lately. He told us, “I’ve been with the club for four seasons now. In my first year with the club we were relegated from Mids 2 South; that was difficult for me to deal with. I didn’t like the fact we’d been beaten even though we’d worked so hard, so I was determined to come back the year after and make things right. “In the second year Houlty and Smash took over and things started to get really interesting for the senior set up. He clearly had the bigger picture in mind, unfortunately we didn’t get promoted that year and to make things worse I broke my arm a couple of games from the end of the campaign. 44 Issue 63 “In year 3 the squad had a slow start to the year and I couldn’t play until December because of my arm. By the time I got back playing promotion was possible but there was a lot of work still to be done. After Christmas we got into some really good form and we managed finally to get promoted back to Mids 2 East. It was brilliant, and we managed to make it better still by beating Jimmies in the county shield. “Going into year 4 there were some big questions around the team, not least who would be captain, we had lost Simmo to an injury that stopped him playing altogether and Rumble had taken over and done a great job. He had had enough though and that left the position available. “In preseason a players vote was held and to my surprise I was chosen as club captain for the 2015-16 season. I was so
