RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
W
orthing RFC has made a significant effort
to expand the role that they play in their
local community in recent times. Club
Representative Josh Brown recently took the time to tell us
more.
Involvement
He told us, “I’ve played for Worthing RFC since I
was 15, so for nearly ten years now. Just over a
year ago I decided to help out with the social
media within the club, as there wasn’t
really much going on.
The first thing I did was create
an Instagram account which now
has over 700 followers and we
seem to pick up at least 2-3
followers per day. All news
relating to games, fixtures,
reports, interviews, events
etc. are posted on Facebook,
Instagram, Twitter and our
website.”
The Role
“The most challenging part
of my role is keeping up to date
with all news related to the club,
as this is all done voluntarily outside
of my normal work hours. The most
rewarding part is seeing our followers
grow and posts being shared and liked. It’s
also nice to see other people’s comments on how
things are improving.”
Atmosphere
“The mood within the club is fantastic. We’ve made some big
changes within the club over the past year and have a lot to look
forward to like our Ladies Day in April, 7s and Beer Festival in
July and hosting Music Mania on 29th July.”

Youth
“Youth rugby is very important as these children are the
future of our club. We run training camps alongside Harlequins
which seem really popular and it gives the young guns a chance
to show their talent. Rugby is a sport for everyone no matter size
or speed, everybody has a role that they can play.”
Integration
“We have a very tight relationship with
