RUGBY FOOTBALL CLUB
A
nnan Rugby Club in Dumfries & Galloway, which
plays at its home ground Violetbank, was originally
established in the late 1870s, while the current Club was
founded in 1969. Annan RFC runs a number of teams at
senior, ladies and youth level with the first team currently
playing in the BT West League Division 2.
Teams currently playing include: •
1st XV

2nd XV
•
Ladies XV
•
U18 Girls XV
•
U15 Girls XV
•
U14 Boys XV
•
U13 Boys XV
• A number of teams starting at
Primary 1 and upwards to Primary 7.
Currently both senior male XV teams
are sitting second in their respective
leagues, namely BT West Division 2 and
BT Reserve League West 2A, and are
both challenging hard for promotion this
season. The first XV recently reached the
final of the BT West Regional
Shield and is also currently
unbeaten in the league. The
Ladies senior XV currently
sit in fourth place in BT
Women’s National League
Division 2, in their first
competitive season. They
are through to the semifinal of the BT Women’s Bowl
Competition.
Over the past three years the
club has heavily invested in its youth
and community development work in
the local area, carrying out curricular
coaching at local primary and secondary
schools. This has led to the Club’s youth
