hitstable RFC has
put together a strong
season on the field
this time around and are backing that up
with some fine work behind the scenes.
We caught up with their Chairman Peter
Hudson to find out more about their
plans for 2016.
He started by telling us about his
involvement with the club, saying, “I first
joined the club in about 1989 and was part
of the committee that put together a bid to
the national lottery that won us funding to
build the club house at Reeves way.”
“Before coming Chairman I took on
several roles in the club including social

secretary, club captain, first team captain,
Minis and junior chairman, club coach
and a regular first team player.
“I took on the Chairman’s roll in 2013
after a disappointing run of five years
rugby where the club dropped from
London Division 3 down to Kent Division
2. The club had spent most of that time
without any maintenance and we were
told with the current financial situation
we would be shut by Christmas.
“A suitable committee was formed and
now some two and a half years later we
are back to winning ways, are financially
sound, have completely refurbished the
whole club including a new bar, an 105
