radford and Bingley RFC have enjoyed a terrific start
to the season and currently sit at the top of Yorkshire
Division One. We recently caught up with their
Chairman Martin Whitcombe to find out what has
been behind their success.
Involvement
He told us, “I have been at the Bradford and Bingley since
May this year; I was educated locally at Bingley Grammar School,
although I never played for the Bees my Father and Uncle played
for the old Bradford Club.”
Tournament
“In August this year we hosted the first mixed ability world
tournament at Wagon Lane, this involved teams from nine
countries, including our own team the Bumble Bee Barbarians.
It was one of the best rugby occasions I’ve been involved with.”
Atmosphere
“We have built the teams and club around traditional rugby
club values which we can all enjoy, there is good team spirit
