“I am the Membership secretary at the
club dealing with collecting membership
from both old and new members. I’d
say the most challenging part of this is
keeping track of the members of the rugby
club as we have many Life members and
Honorary Life Members.
“I am also 1st XV Club Captain. I
would say the most challenging part of
the role is keeping people together and
organising, having to be the cool head
when things sometimes get rough. Being
the Club Captain is possibly one of the
most rewarding things I have done;
to be able to look up and know I have
another 14 players stood by me willing
58 Issue 58
to go with any decision I make gives me
a sense of pride and togetherness. I have
a lot of team members on the pitch that
communicate well and I count on these to
bring me constructive criticism from the
different areas of the park. This makes the
role a lot easier.
“The mood at the rugby club hasn’t
been better, we have recently undergone
a new refurbishment to the clubhouse,
people are positive towards all that we are
doing. We our ambitious at Baildon and
are committed to the new development
of facilities as well as to expanding our
junior sections.”
The disappointing start to the first team’s
league campaign should not take away
from all of the good work being done at
Baildon Rugby Club as they continue to
play a vital role in their local community.
Hopefully they will be able to keep up the
good work for many years to come and
everyone at Rugby Club Magazine would
like to take this opportunity to wish them
the best of luck for the future.
