Ambitions
“The Vectis Festival, The finale to the Vectis calendar, requires
additional help from all parents. This is a huge undertaking
by the club and one that also generates a lot of funds to help
the club through the year. We have worked with local scout
groups to help them fundraise at this event as well as upcoming
business ventures and established local companies.”
“We want to grow our membership and to work with
local schools to ensure that rugby is accessible for all Island
youngsters. We also hope to attract some new sponsorship for
the club so that we can provide excellent facilities for all our
members and their supporters, from kit, to shelters to a decent
cup of coffee.
Vectis is extremely grateful to IWRFC, Ventnor RFC and The
Hurricanes (Sandown and Shanklin RFC) who host our minis
and juniors at their club houses. However, having our own
grounds and clubhouse, continues to be a long term aspiration
of the club.”
Challenges
“Our biggest challenge is the strip of water that both makes
our club unique but also provides a barrier for our neighbours
