The Cornish Pirates believe that the Stadium4Cornwall resurrects an ambition
to play at the highest level in England rugby. It is a facility that will meet the
increasingly exacting standards for top flight sport and with a potential to attract
increasing quality rugby talent who appreciate that they will train and play in a state
of the art facility. Ian Davies, Cornish Pirates Director of Rugby reflects: “Cornish

the clubs keep getting stronger and stronger. Cornish Pirates are ambitious and we
set our aims high because that’s what teams who compete at this level should do.

The Stadium4Cornwall decision gives Cornish Pirates a clear view of the future
and their destiny. Whilst that remains in their own hands the Pirates are starting on
their “journey to Truro”. Ian Connell, Chairman of Cornish Pirates believes, “Talk
of aspiration, ambition, and achieving success is easy to say but difficult to make
happen. We now ha ve the platform to succeed. On and off field development will
be the key to our ability to succeed and to realise those ambitions. The Stadium
being ready for season 2017/18 provides the necessary impetus to all connected
with Cornish Pirates to “make it happen”.
The rallying call from our supporters will hopefully be reaching new decibel levels
over the next 2 seasons.
