These are exciting times to be a Pirate!
T
his year Cornish Pirates are celebrating their 10th birthday and we are planning a year of celebration off the field
and we aim for a similar celebration on the field.
7 years ago we started on a journey to gain consent to build a
Stadium4Cornwall in Truro and for that new state of the art
facility to become home to Cornish Pirates. On 30 July this
year that long and at times frustrating battle became closer
to reality when Cornwall Council granted consent for
an enabling development to allow the Stadium to be
funded through the private sector. The Stadium build
will not cost a single penny to the local taxpayers
of Cornwall
Cornwall has a reputation of being a hotbed
of rugby in England. Rob Saltmarsh, the
Managing Director of INOX Group, the
project developer says, “Cornwall in our
opinion remains ‘a sleeping giant’ in
the world of professional rugby and
we share the Pirates excitement
for the future and are pleased
to be playing our part.”
The Stadium4Cornwall
will be a lot more than
a rugby stadium. The
