saracens RC: Are there any projects in particular that have stood out for you during your time there? SS: We have thirty three different community projects taking place throughout the year, each with their own highlights and success stories. Over two years Sarrie’s Skills Club has expanded to offer Sarrie’s at Home, Sarrie’s RFC and Strictly Sarrie and has gained a national reputation for our work in this area and is seen as a best practice case study with Allianz Park as the heart of the project. Our Hitz Educational supports young people back into education, training and employment. Utilizing rugby as an entry point the programme uses the core values of Respect, Discipline, Friendship, Enjoyment and Teamwork to foster and support these hard to reach young people through a journey of personal development.   Get Onside is an extremely effective programme working with young offenders in and then out of prison, providing hope through education and training and tackling the challenge of reoffending amongst this group.   Last season, the Community Dance programme including School of Cheer and Love to Dance, saw over 1600 male and female dancers take part in a pre-match and half-time dance experience on and around the Wembley pitch in front of a world record crowd of 84,068. “Inspiring Communities, Changing Lives through the power of sport” RC: What are your ambitions for the next 5 years? SS: Although we work with over 70,000 people per year, there are still individuals that we haven’t been able to reach and it’s our aim to allow our programmes to benefit the whole community. We will extend our provision in Hertfordshire and London and continue to innovate and create ground-breaking programmes in order to achieve our objectives. “Inspiring Communities, Changing Lives through the power of sport” www.saracens.com - Twitter : @Saracens www.sportip.biz 39
