additional sides in place. This allows them
to gain experience of adult level rugby even
if they are not yet considered ready for first
team action which can be an important step
in the development process.
Another benefit of having so many sides is
that it allows the first team to benefit from
far greater strength in depth. If they are
ever left short on numbers through injury
they have the option of calling players up
with a limited amount of disruption.
Hammersmith and Fulham also
established a Ladies team in 2003 and
have been going from strength to strength
since then, recently winning promotion to
Championship South East 2. They have
three coaches to help the players develop
their skill and fitness and are keen to
welcome anyone with an interest in the
game regardless of their skill level or
experience. As well as being successful on
the field they have built a reputation for
the friendly atmosphere they provide with
a fantastic social scene in place.
There is much to admire about the fantastic
work being done at Hammersmith and
Fulham RFC as they continue to play a vital
role in their local community. Everyone at
Rugby Club Magazine wishes them the best
of luck for the new campaign.
