MAIDSTONE
decided not to enter the Evergreen Cup
following the establishing of a new
tournament for rural Kent set up by our
own Richard Ewence in conjunction with
Kent RFU, they enjoyed a competitive but
successful season taking the inaugural
trophy with a solid win over Thanet
Wanderers in the final in late April.
The youth section continues to grow
and a change in the committee added
new impetus to their progress. It is very
easy for clubs to operate as two separate
entities of youth and senior rugby, and
Maidstone were probably as guilty of
this as any other club has been. However,
