hackney Frederic de Ryckman de Betz of Attic Self Storage Limited took the time to tell us more about his company and their positive association with Hackney RFC. He told us, “Attic Self Storage Limited is a self-storage business that I set up in 2008 just before the recession. I used to work in the city and I decided to leave that as I wanted to do a little more with my life. Starting just before the recession was difficult, trying to grow a start-up business through the worst financial crisis in living memory was a challenge but we’ve made it through and now are at a point where we are profitable and can look to expand. “I think the key to our progress has been tenacity; the teamwork that we’ve displayed in just keeping on pushing and not giving up has been crucial. We’ve just refused to give up and eventually things have come right for us. The success is all down to the team that we have here. I believe business is about people and I’m delighted with the group that we have. Not only has it allowed us to perform well but to enjoy what we’re doing at the same time. “Last year we were in a position to put back into the local community which is something that we view to be very important. We wanted to find a local rugby club to support and found Hackney which we felt was the right fit for us in terms of the values that we wanted to support. “They’ve made some superb progress over recent years which is great to see and they are thriving now. It’s a fantastic story and in particular it is the youth work that they do that we are delighted to support. We’re not just supporting a club where a few guys turn up each week to play a game, we’re supporting a rugby club that is very actively involved with the local community.” www.hackneyrfc.co.uk- Twitter : @Hackneyrugby www.sportip.biz 9
