leicester lions some new players trying their abilities in the pre-season training. The playing squad for 2015-16 is not yet fully finalised. “Leicester Lions has an active and developing mini and youth section. With a dedicated group of coaches for the mini and youth section we are keen that this develops and these youngsters have a good experience of rugby and stay with the club into the senior sides. “We are a community club - we have good links and have drawn local players into the club at mini, junior and senior level. We offer the ability to play rugby across a wide spectrum of levels of abilities. We are also taking the formation of a ladies section under consideration and development. “Construction of a new clubhouse has commenced and is expected to be completed by the end of December 2015. The club will then have a new club house, three pitches - one of which will be floodlit, plus a floodlit training area. An excellent facility. We envisage that that the new clubhouse and improved facilities will increase the commercial potential, although we consider it is important that we remain as a community rugby club. “Our biggest challenge and ambition over the coming years will be to maintain and develop interest in playing and enjoying rugby at all relevant levels.” It is clearly an exciting time for everyone involved with Leicester Lions as they look to continue to develop. With the new season just around the corner they appear to have everything in place to enjoy a successful campaign and everyone at Rugby Club Magazine would like to take this opportunity to wish them the best of luck for the future. http://www.pitchero.com/clubs/leicesterlions- Twitter : @leicesterlions1 www.sportip.biz 61
