withycombe Withycombe W ithycombe RFC had a really promising campaign in 2014/15 and with a thriving youth section in place the future looks to be bright for the club. Club Representative Chris Gibbons took the time to tell us more about the fine set up that they have in place. He started by telling us about his involvement with the club, saying, “I have been part of the club as a player for the past 6 years, i joined after moving down from Essex. I have now been on the committee for the past 3 years and really enjoy getting involved with running of the club and seeing it grow every season. “I was attracted to how close knit the whole club was and how much of a family environment that was there. One of the most challenging things in my role in the club is to ensure the club is ticking over whether we are in season or not and we have by far the busiest summer we have had in a long time which means the club is getting more and more sustainable each year and that is great to see from my point of view. “The club has a real buzz about it at the minute, after the success of last year in the National RFU Senior Vase where we became South West Champions and got to the semi-final where we narrowly lost to the eventual winners. I think players and supporters alike have got a feeling that the group of senior players we have can really do something special in the up and coming season. 01395 268712 www.pitchero.com/clubs/withycomberfc- Twitter : @WithycombeRFC www.sportip.biz 47
