He told us, “We are a document business; we store paper, we shred paper, we convert paper into digital images, in other words scanning, and we do a lot of processing as well. “I think the key to our success has been that there is a ready market out there and that we have a lot of excellent people who work for us. We pride ourselves on fulfilling what we promise. “Personally, I have lived in Alresford for around 60 years so the rugby club have been local to us and because I am a farmer as well when they lost their playing facilities we provided them with somewhere to play for a few years. The club has always done well, it is very positive down there and it has always been filled with enthusiastic people. “We’ve still got a very positive relationship with the club and get along to support them when we can as they are an important part of the community. As a company we believe it is important to support all of our local sports clubs as they are very important to the area. “We hope to be able to continue to support the club and are just there to support them in doing as well as they can. Box-it is always keen to help and support young people wherever the recommendation comes from – that’s what we do.” “I’ve been involved with the club since it first started in 1991. I thoroughly enjoyed playing and have always been involved in the coaching side as well. My title now is Head Coach and the role has involved building two teams. We’re a relatively small club but now we’re getting the facilities in place we are starting to match the sides around us. “I was very pleased with the progress we made last season in what was our most successful campaign for around ten years. We finished in the middle of the league and are looking to use that as our launch pad to move onto bigger and better things. The average age of the teams has come down considerably which bodes well for the future. “We started pre-season training early because we think we’ve got lots to work on and are desperate to improve. We held a players meeting and everyone only wanted a few weeks off before getting going again. It’s a great mentality we have here and the players are making it a great place to be. They’re all working so hard at the moment because they’ve had a little taste of success and want to push on from here. “For me, our targets this season would be to improve on last year’s effort. Longer term, I’d love to see the club as a well-run, established Hampshire 1 side that is set out so that practices are in place so that anyone new to the club can come in and manage their role without too much difficulty.” Scott Cleeve, Head Coach at Alresford RFC www.pitchero.com/clubs/alresfordrfc - Twitter : @AlresfordRFC www.sportip.biz 25
