english police Company CEO Anthony King took the time to tell us more about the company and their association with Police Rugby. He said, “We were founded back in 1968, and are a national security company which provides a comprehensive range of fire and security services to homes and businesses of all sizes throughout the UK. Head Coach Rhys Morgan on the first selection camp, “Personally, I was pleasantly surprised with the standards on show, especially with police teams generally struggling in recent years. We have already identified some hitherto unseen stand out talent. “For me now, it’s all about getting the right combinations with such limited exposure to the players, we won’t exclude players needlessly and those that are selected will have truly earned their place in the squad. Equally, we will ensure that talented players, who are just outside the cut receive the appropriate developmental advice to contest for places in the future.” One thing is certain, with the commitment and momentum already evident, England Police RUFC are safe bets to take their brand of representative rugby onto a very big stage indeed. “We have grown to be one of the largest privately owned providers of security systems in the UK and work very closely with the police to help detect and deter crime. Whilst we’re forward-thinking in terms of the service we provide, our family values are firmly and proudly about honesty and integrity. “The people and the technology are key to our success - I believe our customer service is second to none and the advancements in technology have definitely helped with our success. “We’ve been involved with Police Rugby for around 3 years but with the police in general; in particular West Yorkshire Police, we have a very long standing relationship. We were the main sponsors of the GB Police league team two years ago and are happy to support the new union side this year, as well as continuing to back the league. “I believe the link helps to cement the relationship between the public and private sector of police. Over the coming years I hope to support the winning side! Looking at the fixtures for their first season, they face very tough opposition in the police services of Australia, Scotland and Ireland - I wish them all the best of luck!” www.facebook.com/pages/British-Police-Rugby - Twitter : @BritPoliceRugby www.sportip.biz 11
