Nelson are a very family orientated club and enjoy a lot of local support. Well done to everyone at the club and let’s keep it going next season.” The rugby club was possibly an intimidating place to go 10 years ago – not any more. You only have to look at the crowds watching rugby here. Families feel safe, relaxed and more importantly - welcome.” Facilities “4 years ago we built our extension which includes the sponsors lounge and balcony which provide excellent views of the main pitch. It’s a sought after place to be on a Saturday! We like to think we look after any team visiting the club and make their visit a memorable one. We have also been fortunate to host WRU Swalec Bowl semi–finals the last 2 seasons and all teams have been nothing but positive regarding the set up here. They were challenging days but successful. As for expanding – we need to really as we are slowly outgrowing our facilities. With all the teams we have playing here we are badly in need of another pitch/ training facility, especially in the winter months. We need a new set of floodlights and a new roof for the main club just to name 2 projects. We can’t sit back on our laurels at all and we are striving to improve all the facilities at Nelson for the next crop of youngsters playing here.” Challenges/Ambitions “We face a constant challenge of player recruitment from U7’s upwards but as long as we have a successful club we John Davies of John Davies & Sons Funeral Directors recently told Rugby Club Magazine, “We have been sponsors of the club for many years now and have helped out in various ways when asked. I do get to the club as often as I can with friends on some match days and it’s great to hear the club are doing so well at all levels. I would like to wish everyone associated
