Letterkenny U18s, under the leadership of
Head Coach Gordon Curley and Coach Martin
Mortimer assembled in July 2014 for pre-season
fitness work and from the outset the group of
young men showed how intent they were on
putting in the effort required to be competitive.
The players were challenged to set some
team goals for the season - one was to be the
best U18 team in the North West, the other
was to have a good cup run – both were well
surpassed.
Utilising the whole squad throughout the
league campaign showed the depth of talent
the lads have. Whilst a settled starting XV
evolved the impact from a quality bench
enabled the team to perform
Letterkenny ended up as league runners up
to Dromore and lost out on an Ulster Cup
final at Ravenhill in the most nail biting finish
to the season, drawing 10-10 to the Ulster
League champions in the semi-final by virtue
of scoring fewer tries. The squad were rightly

Eagles, this is an organisation set up
for players of all ages, with learning
disabilities, to enjoy Tag rugby. Within
