“We recently went on a tour to Germany as a
return visit to two clubs in Hannover. Peter
Vaughan who is a former player and current
coach was a member of the Royal Engineers
stationed in Germany, while there some of the
lads married local girls and stayed in Germany.
In the Autumn series games we supplied them
with Wales v New Zealand tickets with the
WRU’s help.
“Youth rugby is very important to the club as
when the players come out of the youth they
graduate to the first and 2nd teams. Youth rugby
also provides the individual and the benefits of
playing in a team game. This season we must
congratulate Sam Tinsdale of our U16s who has
played for Wales against England. Sam has been
a member of the club for five seasons having
started out in our U11s.
“Hopefully five years from now the club will
continue to be as it is now; a strong community
club that do not pay any players (although
they are always looking for half price beer on
matchdays!). We want to continue to be a happy
club with an annual tour and money in the bank
at the end of every season.”
