the key attributes our young fledgling squad set to gain as they
progress through their rugby careers.
RC: Would you consider yours to be a community club?
HFW: Without a doubt. The strong sense of community support is
pivotal to our accomplishments. Without the goodwill of volunteers
donating their time and resources we wouldn’t see such a solid
sense of progress and development. We also receive sponsorship
from local businesses ranging from insurers, car dealerships to
solicitors – without this commercial backing we wouldn’t be in
such a fortunate position.
RC: Regarding your facility, does it receive favourable comments
from visiting squads? Are you keen to expand/improve on what
you have?
HFW: Our future plans involve expansion plus the improvement
of the existing facilities. Whilst we are keen for improvements they
do remain at an acceptable level; we often receive positive feedback
from visiting squads and referees. West Norfolk RUFC is a club we
are proud of and continue to ensure a vision of the future is our
main goal.
RC: What do you believe could be some of the biggest challenges/
ambitions the club may face in the next five years?
HFW: Whilst the community support we receive is exceptional one
of our biggest challenges will be to build on voluntary commitment
to increase fundraising efforts. Achieving the current standard of
continual development won’t come without funds to aid further
improvements and the expansion of our facilities.
