pontyberem Barrie Hughes of club sponsor Barrie Hughes Florist recently told Rugby Club Magazine, “I went to Pontyberem School and many of my friends were involved in the club so I suppose that is where the connection started. My business Barrie Hughes Florist has been a sponsor for approximately 4 years now and we like to help out our local club when we can. The club are enjoying an excellent season and in particular tribute should be given to the clubs coaches who are doing a very good job cultivating our youngsters locally. It seems like the Pontyberem Rugby Club is on a roll and I feel they will continue to progress next season.” “Following a season when we have only lost one league game and consequently being declared Champions with two games to play, the mood of the Club is on a definite high. We have always had a high number of hard core supporters through good times and bad but returning to winning ways and the mode in which it has been done has certainly inspired lost supporters to come out and watch. “The appointment of two former players, both local boys who came up through the junior ranks and who subsequently went off to distinguish themselves with Clubs playing at a higher level has from the clubs point been inspirational. The experience and know how they have brought to the playing side has been immense and the younger element within the team have been able to benefit from their coaching. “The appointment of a new Captain, www.pitchero.com/clubs/pontyberemrfc- Twitter : @PontyberemRFC www.sportip.biz 67
