time subject to funds. As our membership
grows, we can grow.”
Challenges
“Looking forward, like most clubs, we see
a disconnect at age 16+ and post 18 years
old as many of the young people (more
that 50%) head off to higher or further
education and we have to try and get
them back into rugby.
Similarly, many people cease rugby
earlier than in past years…so guys don’t
play ‘well into their 30s and 40s’ like in
past years. We have initiatives with Bucks
RFU to get past players back in the game
(via Touch and Sevens for example). We
also want to introduce rugby into areas
and target audiences that would not
consider rugby which is a challenge.”
We have a joint Vets team—North Bucks
Silver Foxes—which is a perfect vehicle
for attracting back older players to the
sport.
Working with the local RWC LEGACY
GROUP, we want to make sure that we
get a lasting benefit from the 3 major
games at MK Stadium. The RWC coming
to MK is an amazing event for the city
and we want to make sure that the lasting
effect of this sticks.”
Ambitions
“We want to strengthen the seniors and
get up one league, increase our MJ section
to 400+ and develop our Girls section,
which is currently based at a local School
as part of a satellite club.
