Colin Smith has had a long and positive
association with Beddau RFC recently spoke
with Rugby Club Magazine, saying, “I have
been a lifelong fan of Beddau and remember
visiting the club from an early age.
My dad Clive Smith, nicknamed Mousey,
played back row for the club alongside Tony
Goold in the 70’s. I have always tried my best
to help out the club and was able to use my
experience, working for Coors Brewers, to
assist and guide them when they were going
through some darker financial times.
My knowledge and that of others, allowed
us to focus on the clubs recovery by
implementing the necessary structure to
ensure its survival. I am delighted that the
club are enjoying such a positive season
from top to toe within the club.
I suppose my family are very much a rugby
crowd, my daughter Holly works for European
Rugby and is currently an Operations
Manager there. I would like to take this
opportunity to wish everyone associated with
Beddau Rugby Club the very best of health
and success for the future, as a club they are
a great example to all!”
