rockcliff Rockcliff B ased at Hillheads on Lovaine Avenue in Whitley Bay, Rockcliff RFC currently competes in Durham/Northumberland Division Two. They are led by the team of President Scott Carruthers and Chairman Dave Swinburne and the club has made a considerable amount of progress under their guidance. For more information, please contact your local branch www.arco.co.uk This season their first team has put together a strong league campaign, having compiled a record of sixteen wins and ten defeats from their twenty six league matches. This saw them finish in the top half of the table with 80 points on the board. Their performance this time around should provide the club with the perfect platform from which to build as they look ahead towards next season. As long as they can retain their current group of players and perhaps make one or two quality additions they should be well set up for a successful campaign. Rockcliff is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however and they also have a number of youth sides in place. These teams look to provide youngsters from the local area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential. It is important for any club looking to be successful over a sustained period of time to be able to produce their own talent and this is an area that Rockcliff appears to have covered. It will certainly be exciting to see how their juniors can progress in the coming years.
