We are hoping that the future will bring a further
enhancement of the facilities available to our club and
community members with the dream of having our own
clubhouse based at the Fir Tree Lane pitches. This plan is
currently in its infancy but we are hoping that strides can
be made to make this dream a reality within the coming
months.
In 2013 the club won the ‘Twitter’ account of the year
award for its efforts on the social media outlet, we have now
expanded our social media network by adding our own
website, facebook page, YouTube channel and Instagram
accounts. These are managed by a former Bulldog in Alex
Chesters, and in the last month we have added our own
club app available from the apple I-store. We hope in the
future that we will become twinned with clubs from every
rugby league playing country in the world. This would
create commercial, cultural and educational benefits for all.
It would be remiss of me to not give a deserved mention
to a few individuals who without their commitment and
efforts the club would not be in the healthy state it is at
the moment with two open age teams, and nine junior
and youth teams. So a big thank you goes to Roy Mathias,
Kenny Brain, Ernie Collins, Richard Mathias, Tommy
Cunningham, Dan Crampton, Ade Burns, Wayne Tapper,
Adam Cunningham, Dave Archer, Pete McConnell, Billy
Garner, Jeff Barton, Nige Johnson, Graham Southern, Andy
Marsh, and Howard Ireland. I can only apologise to those
I have missed out.
