Matthew Thomas is a club sponsor with his business Marlborough
Dental Practice. He recently told Rugby Club Magazine, “I have big
family connection with Bridgend Sports, I played as scrum half and
in their back line from 88 through to 2002 when my recurring knee
injuries put a stop to my playing career.
My dad Danny, who is still involved in the club, was a back row man
and my uncle Iswyn played hooker. I have sponsored the club for
over 6 years now and like to help out when I can. I have witnessed
some of the clubs darker days so it is great to see them looking so
healthy on and off the pitch.
I am delighted that the club took the decision not to pay players and
the coaches have installed a very strong `play for the club’ attitude
which has really rejuvenated everyone. I am very proud to be
associated with Bridgend Sports Rugby Club and would like to wish
everyone continued success.”
