Rob Norris(Fox) is an ex player, fan and sponsor of
Brynmawr RFC. Rob recently told Rugby Club Magazine
about his positive association with the club, saying “I moved
to Brynmawr when I was 11 years old into a foster family that
I was staying with. Being an active youth I got involved with
the local rugby club and played youth rugby for Brynmawr.
Although the club would not have known this at the time,
my whole rugby experience and the friends that I have
made through Brynmawr RFC, gave me a great sense of
belonging and helped shape me as an individual and gave
me a great sense of discipline and pride playing for the club
(even if I was sub most weeks).
Rob Kershaw, who was best man at my wedding, has been
a very close friend of mine since then and now finding
myself in a privileged position, I always like to help the club
out whenever I can. I have witnessed the highs and lows of
the club and remember on several occasion’s coming back
to Brynmawr to watch the team, driving with Rob 20 minutes
before a match day, asking people along the roadside if they
could come and play a game for us.
I now reside in Reading and get down to the club at least
two or three times a year, friends I have taken to the club
over the years
