Rugby Club Magazine caught up with their Chairman Brian Berry to find out more about the work that they are doing. Atmosphere He told us, “The general mood is very positive despite a very hard season on the pitch. But I would like to think we are still a forward looking club and realise, there is still growth within the club and we will get stronger over the next few years if we retain the current crop of players and coach and can attract some more experienced players in key positions.” This Season “The season has not gone as well as the players, the coach and maybe the chairman were hoping. I used the word hope rather than expect, as I have to be mindful that all the players and workers within the club are volunteers and give a lot of their own time up for the club and cannot always be available each week which impacts on training, selection and performances and results on and off the pitch.” Progress “In comparison to last season there have been more positive results and more scores on the board but there have still been some dark days when players and officials have questioned what we are doing each week. Communication is still an issue across the club and if we can improve that across all levels then I am sure it will make life a little easier for all concerned and allow people to focus on key areas.” 84 Issue 53
