hitehead RFC is a terrific example of a family orientated club which plays an important role in their local
community. We caught up with their Secretary Gwyn Lloyd to find out more about the good work they’ve
been doing lately.
Atmosphere
He told us, “There is a buzz of excitement
around the club this season as we have
started an application for ‘member club’
status with the WRU. We have strong
working relationships with the Regional
Development Team, Club Operations Team,
Child Safeguarding Officer and Funding
Coordinators at the Union, all of which have
helped us to achieve our objectives and grow
over the last couple of seasons.
We have been able to make some recent
improvements to the clubhouse facilities,
extending the Lounge Bar and creating a new
café-bar with extended opening hours. We
have also been raising money for our charity
partner, Ty Hafan, which helps children with
life limiting illnesses and their families and
