Macclesfield Macclesfield Rugby Club Minis and Juniors Sunday Mornings at the club you will often find upwards of 500 children engaged in Mini and Junior Rugby. From the U6’s, getting used to the game, the U9’s getting to grips with ‘First Contact’ and upwards to U13’s Juniors and beyond, as the boys prepare for the Senior game. The section is open to all, and in true rugby spirit there is a game for all shapes and sizes. Coaches also range in size and shape, and range from current and former players, to Dad’s with no playing experience; however, through the Clubs commitment to the section many are now qualified to RFU Level 1 and 2. Friendly matches are played in the Mini section against competitors from all over Cheshire and Lancashire, and the Junior section also enter the Cup competitions. Whether it’s home or away matches, training, or tours one thing can be said of the whole section; without exception, they are exemplars of the Core values of Rugby, and are a true asset to the Club. The section also has a thriving social scene, flagging the 1st XV onto the pitch on Match Days, touring sides travelling throughout the UK and abroad, and a great range of quiz nights and race nights.
