Arfon Harris is a club sponsor and
ex player of Betws RFC. He told Rugby
Club Magazine, “I started playing youth
rugby for Ammanford but always promised
I would end my career down at Betws. My
main position was either 6 or 8 but I hung
my boots up around the age of 42 as
there were a lot of good players around
then who were able to continue and keep
the team going so I decided to step down.
As I am a builder I tend to get to matches
when the weather is bad and I have
noticed that the team are getting back to
basics which is reflected in their success
this season. I like to help the club out
whenever I can and have sponsored them
for very many years now. Best wishes to
everyone associated with Betwys Rugby
Club.”

Tim Smith is an ex player and main
sponsor of Betws RFC with his company
Jetsweep Ltd. He recently spoke to
Rugby Club Magazine about his positive
association with the club, “I started
playing for Betws in the early 80’s in the
position of loose head prop. Towards
the end of that decade, due to work
commitments and other pressures I hung
up my boots. It’s great to see the boys
doing so well this season and I would like
to wish everyone associated with the club
continued success.”
