cwmavon but we can’t rely upon people attending during the week so much as they used to. It’s nice to win things but it’s also nice to be playing the game and we want to keep providing people with an opportunity to take part in rugby. “Our ambitions over the years are to continue to provide rugby for everybody that wishes to play. I don’t see us going much higher than where we are due to the cost involved so we’re happy with the level that we’re playing at. We’ve got a good set up here and want to continue with the good work that we’ve been doing.” Brian Manning of Manning Construction recently spoke to Rugby Club Magazine, saying, “I started playing for Cwmavon Rugby Club when I was 14 years old within their youth team and I am now 75 years old, my main position then was prop or wing forward. Unfortunately, I don’t get to as many games as I would like as I am down at Bridgend now plus I follow my grandson Jake Morgan who plays for Wales 7’s and so we both travel a lot internationally. The club has been a large part of my life, my dad Jack “John” Manning was a coach down there too. Peter Richards book ‘The History of Cwmavon’ goes into some great detail about the success of the club over the years and is a marvellous and very factual read. I have been a sponsor of the club for over 30 years and help out whenever asked. I would like to wish everyone associated with the club continued success.” 70 years’ experience. 19 retailers. 7 brands. The 1 place for all your motoring needs.
