narberth Andrew Young of Young Bros. recently talked with Rugby Club Magazine and said, “I started playing on the wing for Narberth when I was 15 years old and wound down my playing career when I was 32 in the late 1990s. I have always kept involved with the club and get along to the matches whenever I can. My son Harley is now playing for the U10’s and I help out with coaching too. Harley looks like his playing position may be in the forward line, I suppose time will tell. My business Young Bros. has sponsored the club for many years now and I like to help out whenever I can. The boys compete at a very high level in the championship and although aspects of rugby, such as players nutrition and methods have changed greatly since my playing days the club have always maintained a very high level of performance. I would encourage the boys to keep playing as they are doing and good luck to everyone at Narberth RFC for the rest of the season!” CIVIL ENGINEERING Specialist Utility Services Roads and Sewers Directional Drilling Pipe Bursting Lowloader & Tipper Hire T : 01437 563259 www.ybce.co.uk We have had a reasonable season; we’re a bit stuck on a limb in West Wales and find it difficult to get the help we would like from the regions. Our home form has been excellent, unbeaten so far but our away form has been indifferent. The Athletic side have won their league which is great, although second team rugby seems to be struggling generally in Wales. We have some very useful junior teams ‘The Ashes’, Llandissilio, Clunderwen, Pembs. SA66 7TT F : 01437 563835 and it would be great to see some of these players develop into the first team as this to me is fundamental to the success of the club. I would like to think we could consolidate our position in the top 6 of the league over the remainder of the season. It’s a big step into the premiership but we are well consolidated in the championship, so I think it has to be the aim to look for promotion in the years to come, but it also has to be sustainable!” There is much to admire about the good work that Narberth have been carrying out both on and off the field in recent times and this is thanks in no small part to the hard work that their Committee has put into making the club a success. Hopefully they will be able to continue in the same manner for many years to come. www.narberthrfc.co.uk - Twitter : @Narberth_rfc www.sportip.biz 95
