Jon Ford of club sponsor Highgate recently told Rugby Club
Magazine, “I moved to the village 10 years ago for a quieter life and
found the community aspect in Llangadog to be very encouraging.
This is mainly why I support the rugby club which is at its heart and
I would like to wish everyone at Llangadog continued success!”
He told us, “I have been involved with Llangadog RFC since
2002; the club was formed in 1993, by ex-Llandovery, Llanelli
(pre- Scarlet’s era) and Wales wing, Llangadog boy, Carwyn
Davies. I moved away from Llangadog in 1988 aged 21, I
had moved to Southampton, while there, I took up playing
football with a couple of local sides, I then returned home in
2002 and signed up as a player for Llangadog RFC, at the
ripe old age of 34.
While living away, Llangadog RFC was
formed and I always tried to find
out how they were doing. They
were a good side, and won
a lot of trophies, it was a
great grass roots club,
and run by good
local people, who
incidentally are
still here after
