Bargoed RFC club President Gary Williams spoke candidly to Rugby Club Magazine about the clubs current situation, “I have to say it is
a shame that we don’t have an A-list status in the areas where it matters to allow our progression from the championship division we
currently compete in. We are a club who strive to realise the ambitions of our teams and a little reality and common sense has been
lacking when it comes to the barriers we face.
Our game against Pontypridd in the cup serves to emphasise the fact that our team needs regular competition at the highest level
in order to improve. As club president I am only a very small part of the clubs infrastructure, real praise has to go to our committee,
coaches, managers and organisers who ensure that we grow our own young talent from within. Best wishes to everyone associated
