B
ased at Oaklands Park on Wellington Road in West Sussex, Chichester RFC currently competes in the National League
3 London and South East Division. They are led by the team of President David Kay and Chair Keith Martin and have
been making superb progress under their guidance.
First established in 1926, the ground
is situated to the north of the City and
with fine views of both the City and the
Cathedral is one of the finest settings for
the game in the South East. A superb
playing surface is also well supported by
a modern clubhouse.
This season, their first team’s
performances have generally been good
with them putting together a record of 11
wins, 1 draw and 7 defeats from their first
19 matches. This sees them sitting in the
top half of the table with 57 points on the
board.
This should provide them with a good
platform from which to build as they look
to finish off the season with a good run of
results. It will be important for the side to
do so as they will be keen to go into the offseason with plenty of momentum in order
to allow them to continue to progress.
Chichester RFC is a club that prides itself
on being a community club that provides
great rugby, teamwork and friendship
for their local area. Their efforts in this
regard were recognised in December 2004
when they were awarded the RFU Seal of
Approval.
They did not rest on their laurels
however, continuing to improve the club
and this resulted in them being awarded
the Whole Club Seal of Approval in a
ceremony at Twickenham. They have
