nenagh ormond Donovan, who along with fellow founding member June Whelan deserves much of the credit for developing the women’s game at the club. The current PRO, Eithne Darcy, also played with the Ladies team up to last season. Like all amateur sports clubs, the survival of Nenagh Ormond would not be possible without the goodwill and support of the community. In these tough times, the club is lucky to have some very loyal and generous sponsors from both the Nenagh area and surrounding parishes. We also have a fantastic club committee, led by President Mick Mackey, ex-officio David Kennedy and Vice President Sean McCullough, who work hard together and a fundraising committee who are developing new initiatives to raise funds. Along with the committee, players and coaching teams are a whole host of volunteers who give their time freely to the club and do everything from lining the pitch to manning the scoreboard, from cleaning out dressing rooms to collecting on Flag Days and, of course, supporting our teams on match days. The club is lucky to have them and to have had such dedicated people throughout the years to bring the club to where it is today. Club Secretary Theresa Hassey summed up the team spirit which is vital for the survival and success of a club very well, “After all we are only the temporary caretakers of this club for future generations to come and hopefully we’ll be able to make some improvements along the way.” Score with the Great National Abbey Court Hotel, Lodges & Trinity Leisure Spa Facilities: • 83 spacious and relaxing guestrooms • Abbots Steakhouse & Bar • 24 modern comfortable 4 Star Holiday Homes consisting of 3,5 or 8 bedrooms • Solitude Spa & Edels Hair Salon • 12 private meeting rooms from 2 – 450 delegates, all with Wireless internet • Family friendly hotel with Games Room, Rugrats Kids Club and Crèche • Banqueting Suite for up to 330 guests. • Trinity Leisure Spa with 20m Swimming Pool, Hydrotherapy Pool, Sauna, Steam room & Gymnasium • Magnificent landscaped gardens • Ample free parking • Experienced dedicated Wedding Co-ordinators • Professional Conference and Banqueting Team.
