It will certainly be exciting to see how their youngsters are able to develop over the coming years. They are also able to boast some high quality facilities having sold part of its property in 1996 to Morrisons Supermarket for £1.4 million in order to fund the purchase of Lockwood Park. Since gaining the land they’ve turned their home into a £4 million major sports complex backed by a £1.84 million Sports Council lottery grant. They now have a main floodlit pitch with a capacity of 1,500 and seating for 500 people. They also have additional rugby pitches and an all-weather pitch. Having these facilities should help them to attract and retain high quality players. Huddersfield is clearly a superbly run establishment off the field and they appear to have everything in place to enable them to look forwards to a bright and successful future. Hopefully they will be able to continue in the same manner and everyone at Rugby Club Magazine would like to wish them the best of luck for the years to come. www.rugby-club.biz 49
