OLD REIGATION OLD REIGATIAN Competing in the London 2 South West Division, Old Reigatian RFC plays their home games at the Geoffrey Knight Fields on Park Lane in Reigate. They are led by President Sir Peter Harrison CBE who is supported by Secretary Peter Tharp and the club has made a considerable amount of progress under their guidance. This season their first team has made a positive start to their league campaign, having compiled a record of 2 wins and one defeat from their first 3 matches. This has left them with 10 points on the board and just behind the early pace setters. If they are able to keep up their recent level of form they should find themselves top of the table before too long. So long as they are able to retain their current group of players and perhaps make one or two quality additions they should be well set up for a successful season. One of the main highlights of their performances so far has been the strong defensive record that they have established. They have conceded just 40 points in their 3 matches at a rate of less than 15 per match, which is among the best in the league. This record is thanks to the fact that they have some superb individual defenders and have worked hard during the off-season to shape them into an organised unit. Having a good defence is vital as it allows a team to grind out results even when they are not playing at their best. Another stand out feature of the Old Reigatian set-up is the superb youth section that they have in place. This part of the club looks to provide 108 ISSUE 49
