OXFORD
OXFORD
Oxford RFC is a club that does a tremendous amount of good work in their local community,
particularly in relation to the development of young players. The club is based at the end of
North Hinksey Lane in Oxon and they are led by the team of President Richard Tyrell and
Chairman David Bagnall.
They are currently looking for new players in
order to establishing a senior team. They have
a proud history in the local area and are keen to
be competing again. The first stage of this will
involve fielding a single adult team with a view to
developing from there.
They therefore encourage anyone keen to get
involved in the game to come along regardless
of what level they are at and promise they will
receive a warm welcome.
Oxford is already a very active club and run a
thriving youth section. This part of the club looks
to provide young players from the local area with
an opportunity to play the game in a safe and
enjoyable environment whilst helping them to
reach their full potential.
It is important for any club to be able to produce
their own talent, particularly in the current
financial climate and this is an area that they
appear to have covered. As they look to establish
their senior section it will be a major boost for

them if they can rely upon young players coming
through the ranks.
Oxford is clearly a club with great potential and
this is highlighted by the work that they have
done in recent times to improve their facilities.
They’ve refurbished their main bar and refitted
their changing rooms along with a number of
other minor improvements.
They would have not have been able to do any
of this without the support of volunteers who
have given up their time to help them progress.
So long as they continue to receive this kind of
backing the club should be able to look forwards
to a bright and successful future.
There is much to admire about the set up that
Oxford currently has in place and this is thanks
to all of the hard work that has been put into the
club. They have exciting plans in place for the
years to come and it will certainly be exciting to
