FLINT Flint’s strong record is thanks in part to having some superb individual defenders but also to the hard work that they have put in on the training ground to ensure that they are a well organised unit. Defending well gives the team the ability to grind out results even if they are not playing well which can be particularly important during the winter months when conditions can make it hard to play a free flowing game. Flint is not a club to focus solely upon their senior section however and they also have a number of youth sides. These teams look to provide youngsters from the local area with an opportunity to play the game in a safe and enjoyable environment whilst helping them to reach their full potential. It is vital for any team that is looking to be successful to be able to produce their own talent, particularly in the current financial climate. Coaching staff overseeing this part of the club are confident they’ve a number of juniors with the potential for a bright future. Flint’s positive start to the season is a reflection of all the hard work that has been put into the club during the off-season. Everyone at Rugby Club Magazine would like to wish them the best of luck for the rest of the campaign.
