VALLEY RAIDERS
Gwendraeth Valley Raiders is a relatively new club having first been established in
2013 and they play their home games at Parc Gwenllian in Carmarthenshire. Their
home colours are White and Purple and they compete in the Welsh Rugby League
Conference.
They are led by Chairman Emyr Jones
who is supported by Secretary Neil
Davies and the club is progressing well
under their guidance. They have already
demonstrated the potential that they
have on the field and are beginning to
get to a stage where they play a vital role
in their local community.
Their first team put together a solid
league season in 2014 as they compiled
a record of having won 6 and lost 4 of
their 10 matches. This saw them finish
in 4th place in the league with 12 points
on the board which was enough to earn
them a spot in the end of season playoffs.
They took on the Aber Valley Wolves
but were unfortunately not able to
come away with the victory. This should
not take away from what has been a
successful campaign all around however
and the team heads into the off-season
with a good platform from which to build.
So long as they are able to retain their
current group of players and perhaps
make one or two quality additions they
should be in with a good chance of
pushing on in 2015.
Gwendraeth Valley Raiders is not a club
to focus solely upon their senior section
however and they also have youth sides
in place. These teams look to provide
young players from the local area with
