Stackhouse Poland (SPL), one of the UK’s leading specialist Insurance Brokers and Insurance Broker
of the Year in 2013, has been sponsoring the prestigious Summer Ball at Cobham RFC since 2010. It is
a relationship built on reciprocal business relationships, a common love of rugby and, frankly, because
everyone likes each other!
We have built a tremendous, and commercial, partnership during this time. It all started with, as often
happens, a round of golf that turned into some commercial property business with one of the committee,
David Williams, and then his own personal insurances. A request soon came in to consider supporting
the club, which we were happy to do. At the club’s next renewal of its policies, for the premises and other
covers, we were appointed and so for both parties it had become a relationship which achieved our mutual
objectives.
SPL specialise in protecting the principal assets of our clients, both in their personal and business life,
particularly wealthy private clients, and so the thought of sponsoring a club in one of the wealthiest parts of
the country obviously appealed to us. We were soon being asked to review the insurance covers of some
of the membership as well as discovering how many of our existing policy holder clients are members of
Cobham RFC.
The relationship with Cobham has, furthermore, led to getting to know some of the other sponsors of the
club, mainly like-minded professional firms where similar partnerships have flourished.
We have just recently confirmed that we will continue the sponsorship for 2015’s Summer Ball as well –
it’s worth the sponsorship just to go and have so much fun with them on their special evening, but it has
become much more than that as a relationship. All of us at Stackhouse Poland wish Cobham continued and
greater success.
