Woodrush certainly did not ignore their defensive duties however and have developed a reputation for being a tough tackling no nonsense outfit. They had the best defence in the league as well which gave their attacking players the perfect platform from which to go out and produce the goods. Being so hard to breach gives Woodrush the option of grinding out results even when they are not at their best and this was important for their Championship run. It is also vital for the times when the British weather makes it difficult to produce free flowing, running rugby.
