Former service member has property riddled with dampness due to dripping ceiling

IN September, a former service member who has‘ PTSD,’ and‘ Lung problems,’ has had his property riddled with dampness, due to a leaking roof.
Homeowners in Ramsbottom, Greater Manchester revealed that their properties were due to undergo a home retrofit program but became a series of disturbance and dampness, as workers were unable to make the property watertight.
Bernard, 72, a former service member argued that homeowners feel‘ Dismissed and ignored,’ as they wait for their properties to be attended to.
Bernard also added the following:“ The black mould in my home is a serious concern.”“ It could be affecting residents’ health, and I want it dealt with as a priority.”
“ I’ m currently sleeping on a sofa because I can’ t use my bedroom.”
“ I have ongoing back problems, and it’ s causing me a great deal of pain and discomfort.”
“ I have existing lung problems, and I already have fluid on my lungs.”
“ Because of that, I’ m particularly concerned about the impact the damp and mould could have on my health.”
“ The ceiling will have to be removed because it is still saturated with water.”“ A plasterer has advised that the ceiling cannot simply be skimmed over because of the extent of the water damage.”
“ At the moment, I’ m unable to sleep in my own bedroom because an industrial dehumidifier is running continuously while remedial work is carried out.”
“ Many of the residents affected are elderly and vulnerable.”“ We all look out for each other on the street.”
“ One neighbour has had scaffolding around her bungalow for more than a week without any work being carried out.”
“ Being shut in by the scaffolding and the lack of light has affected her wellbeing.”
“ Another neighbour is almost blind and has serious mobility problems.”
“ These delays have a real impact on people who are already dealing with significant health issues.”
