Finding the right solution
Bounty’ s approach is not simply about recommending the biggest job.
On a recent project for a local property business, a leaking chimney had allowed water into a property and contributed to mould developing internally. Rather than replacing the roof, Bounty carried out the necessary leadwork and re-pointing to address the source of the problem.
It was a relatively small project, but an important one— particularly for a property being prepared for its next tenant.
Another recent job involved helping a young couple who had just purchased their first home. Their property survey had highlighted problems with the roof verges— the edges of the roof where the tiles meet the side of the building. The existing mortar had failed, so Bounty removed it and re-bedded the verge tiles. The team also installed tile vents and eaves comb fillers, which help improve ventilation into the loft while closing gaps at the bottom of the roof.
For Bounty, explaining work like this is part of the service. Customers shouldn’ t need to be roofing experts to understand what is happening to their property or why it matters.
The details matter
Tom believes that good roofing is often about the details that aren’ t immediately obvious.
A roof needs to be properly assessed before work begins, the right solution needs to be identified and the smaller elements need to be finished correctly. That means clear communication throughout the project, straightforward advice and a focus on quality workmanship.
Ultimately, Bounty wants customers to feel confident that they understand the work being carried out and that the job has been done properly.
Looking to the future
While Bounty has established its foundations in Northampton, Tom has bigger plans for the business.
Over the next five years, the aim is to expand Bounty’ s presence towards the South Coast, building on the company’ s existing reputation while continuing to develop its team, customer base and range of services.
The intention isn’ t simply to grow for the sake of growth.
The same principles that have shaped Bounty so far will remain at the centre of the business: good workmanship, honest advice, clear communication and doing the job properly.
From a small roof repair to a complete roofing project, Bounty’ s ambition is to build a business that customers and other contractors know they can rely on.
