Volunteer Opportunities - Immediate Need It doesn ’ t take a big commitment to make a big impact .
Home Delivered Meals
Seeking drivers and runners to serve over 165 meals daily to homebound seniors . Volunteers work in teams of two , a driver and a runner . Each team delivers about 25 meals and the average time to deliver meals is 2 hours , starting at 9:45 am . A person can volunteer one day a month or several days a week .
Dubuque Food Pantry
Volunteers are needed to sort the donated food and grocery items , stack on shelves , and repack these products into individual sized bags or boxes . These tasks are essential to the food pantry ’ s day to day operations .
Morning hours are available from 9:00 am - 11:00 am Afternoon hours are available from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Volunteer Treasurer - The Dubuque Food Pantry is also seeking a volunteer treasurer . Assist in processing donations , enter daily reports , generate w9 forms as needed , and maintain organizational practices to conform to Non-profit guidelines . This position requires approximately 4 hours per week .
Presentation Lantern
Weekly tutors - Help make immigrants feel welcome , assist with reading , writing , and speaking English and prepare immigrants for the US Citizenship exam .
Time commitment is 2 hours per week . Mondays or Fridays - 10:00 am - 12:00 pm or 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm Tuesday or Thursday - 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm , 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm or 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Volunteer Substitutes - open availability throughout the week during our open hours . Substitutes are called on an as needed basis . Presentation keeps a list of substitutes and calls if a substitute is needed .
Time commitment is 2 hours per shift Monday , Wednesday and Friday - 10:00 am - 3:00 pm Tuesday or Thursday - 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm Friday - 1:00 pm - 7:00 pm .
